Daedream has a breeding power of 2910, which puts it rarer than 10% of all breedable Pals (lower power means rarer offspring). If you are starting from scratch, the most accessible pairing is Chikipi + Tocotoco: at rarity 1 and 1 they are the lowest-rarity parents among all 60 combos.

Is Daedream worth a base slot?

At a base, Daedream's best job is Handiwork: level 1 makes it the #106 Handiwork worker of the 109 Pals that can do the job at all. It also covers Gathering (Lv 1, #106 of 111), Transporting (Lv 1, #145 of 148). Its combat stats are ordinary (70 HP, 75 attack against roster averages of 95 and 96), so treat it as a specialist rather than a brawler. It is nocturnal, so it keeps working through the night while day-shift Pals sleep, which effectively doubles its output on automated bases. A food cost of just 1 makes it one of the cheaper Pals to keep fed.
