Valheim's default cap is 10 players per server. That is a game limit, not a Physgun one: we never charge per slot, and a plan costs the same whether two or ten people are online. Bigger crews can raise the cap with BepInEx mods such as Valheim Plus, though both the game and the server work noticeably harder past ten, which is exactly where the CPU headroom on the larger plans pays off.

Every plan includes full file access over SFTP, the file manager and SSH, so you can install BepInEx, drop Jotunn, Valheim Plus or any other plugin into BepInEx/plugins, and edit their configs in the browser with VS Code. One thing to plan for: most gameplay mods need every player to run the same set on their own client, while server-only mods just work for everyone who joins.

Yes. Valheim supports crossplay between Steam, the Microsoft Store and PC Game Pass version, and Xbox consoles. On Physgun it is a single toggle in the panel, no launch flags or config edits. A crossplay server shows a join code in the in-game server list, so console players can find you without typing an IP. If everyone plays on Steam you can leave it off: Steam-only servers connect directly instead of through the crossplay relay.

Yes, and nothing is lost. Valheim stores each world as two files, WorldName.db and WorldName.fwl, in your local worlds_local folder (on Windows under AppData/LocalLow/IronGate/Valheim). Upload both to the server's worlds_local folder with SFTP or the file manager, set the server's world name to match, start it, and your seed, every build and all of your boss progress carry over. Characters are saved on each player's own PC, so nobody loses skills or gear either. Starting fresh instead? Set any seed you like when you create the new world.

Both, and they are independent. Valheim requires a server password of at least five characters that is not contained in the server name; it is set with the -password launch flag, and -public 1 or 0 decides whether the server appears in the in-game community list. Most crews keep the password on and public listing off, then share the IP or join code in Discord. Either way your server sits behind Physgun's DDoS protection.

Yes. Physgun runs scheduled backups of your whole server, including the worlds_local folder that holds your .db and .fwl files, and you can restore any snapshot in a single click from the panel. Valheim also writes its own rolling world backups next to the save every time it autosaves, so between the two you are covered against a corrupted save or a griefed base.
