What are IVs in Palworld?

IVs (individual values, called talents in the game files) are hidden per-Pal rolls from 0 to 100 for HP, Attack, and Defense. At 100 an IV grants +30% to that stat's growth, so two Pals of the same species and level can differ by hundreds of HP. The game never shows IVs directly, which is why you need a calculator to read them from displayed stats.

How do I check my Pal's IVs?

Open the Pal's stats screen in game, then enter its species, level, and displayed HP, Attack, and Defense into this calculator. It inverts the game's exact stat formulas to recover each IV. For a clean read, check a freshly caught or hatched Pal; if the Pal has condenser stars, souls, trust levels, or stat passives, set those in the upgrades panel first or the numbers will be skewed.

Are IVs inherited through breeding?

Yes. Each of the three IVs is inherited from the parents with a chance of a fresh roll, which is why serious breeders start from high-IV parents and cull toward perfection over generations. Why does the calculator show an IV range instead of one number?

The game floors every intermediate step of its stat math, so at low levels several neighboring IVs can produce the same displayed stat. The range shrinks as the Pal levels up; by the level cap almost every IV maps to a unique stat value. If you want a single number, level the Pal a bit and re-check.

Why is there no exact match for my stats?

Ninety-nine times out of a hundred it's an unaccounted modifier: condenser stars, soul enhancements, a trust (partner) level, or a passive like Legend or Brave that changes Attack or Defense. Set those in the upgrades panel. The formulas themselves are verified against the game's own stat breakdown to within a point or two on a handful of boundary cases.
