Player versus player combat can completely change the way your Palworld server is played, allowing players to fight one another, raid enemy bases, and create more competitive gameplay. Whether you’re hosting with Physgun or managing your own dedicated server, enabling PVP only takes a few configuration changes. This guide walks you through turning on every available PVP setting and troubleshooting common issues if they don’t apply correctly.
Enabling PVP in Physgun Server Settings
If you’re a Physgun client, our panel displays all of your world settings under the Palworld Settings tab. To enable PVP in the Physgun panel:
-
Visit your Physgun Panel.
-
Stop your server.
-
Find the Palworld Settings tab in the left navbar.
-
Scroll down until you find the following fields:
-
BIsPVP- True allows PVP settings to be enabled on this server. -
BEnablePlayertoPlayerDamage- True allows players to damage one another. -
BEnableDefenseOtherGuildPlayer- True allows base raids and damage to other guilds.
-
-
Restart your server.
Enabling PVP on your Palworld Server Using the Config File
If you aren’t hosting with Physgun, are self-hosted, or are using a VPS, you can still enable PVP on your Palworld server using the configuration file. To enable PVP in the config file:
-
Stop your server.
-
Navigate to your server files.
-
Open the Pal/Saved/Config/ directory and select either LinuxServer or WindowsServer, depending on how you’re hosted.
-
Open
PalWorldSettings.ini. -
Scroll down until you find the aforementioned fields and change them to true.
-
Restart your server.
How to Generate a New WorldOption SAV file
In some cases, PVP settings will have trouble updating on an already active save. If you’re unable to get PVP working, you’ll need to generate a new world options file. To do so:
-
Visit palworldoptions.com.
-
Click the Import Settings button and paste your
PalworldSettings.inifile. -
Click Load Config.
-
Scroll all the way down and hit the Generate WorldOption.sav button.
-
Make sure your server is stopped.
-
Navigate to Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0.
-
Find your world’s string and open the folder.
-
Paste your
WorldOption.savfile into the directory. Replace any old files you had if prompted. -
Restart your server.
-
If you did everything correctly in this guide, you should be able to kill your friends! In the game, of course…
Conclusion
Once PVP is enabled, your Palworld server will allow player combat based on the settings you’ve chosen, from simple duels to full guild-versus-guild base raids. If your changes don’t take effect immediately, generating a new WorldOption.sav file usually resolves the issue. After restarting your server, your players can jump into a much more competitive Palworld experience.
