🧮 How to setup your playercountbot for your discord server!

🤖 Creating your discord bot
You will need to create a discord bot using the Developer Portal, and we’re here to help you through that process!
- Head over to the Developer Portal on Discord
- At the top click
New Application - Give your bot a
Name, andSelect a team,Personalis fine - then clickCreate
- This name will be visible publicly on the bot
- You can setup a profile picture later in the settings
- Nice! Now continue on down the guide to complete the setup.
🔗 Creating your bot on playercountbot.com & linking it to your discord application
This part is extremely easy and simple, this is also where you can configure your scrolling status messages and templates!
- Visit https://playercountbot.com then click
Login to discord -> - Click the
Create - Enter in the
Server Informationthen clickNext - Fill out the
Query Setup
- For Minecraft: Your Query IP & Port are likely the same as your current IP & Port you entered earlier. If you are using TCPShield/Other protection use the connect hostname instead. (e.g. play.mymcserver.com)
- For Rust: To show joining players you must use the Rust RCON method.
- Click
Next - Head over to the Developer Portal on Discord and click on the
OAuth2tab - Click
Copyunder theCLIENT IDon the OAuth2 Discord page
- Head back to your playercountbot setup, and paste in the
CLIENT IDto theBot Client IDinput.
- Go back to Discord, then click on the
Bottab - Under
TOKENclickReset Token- this is necessary to get your token, NEVER share this token with anyone.
- This step is always required when creating a new bot, we know, it’s convoluted, blame discord.

- Once you have your token click
Copy
- Now head back to playercountbot, and paste the
TOKENinto theBot Tokeninput - Finally, click
Createthen you’re done!
To invite the bot to your server, simply click the Invite button at the top right in playercountbot!
TIP: If you want to give your discord bot a profile picture, head to the
Bottab in the Developer Portal and you can change the icon & banner freely.
